January and February (2013) have been crazy, busy months for me, workshops, seminars, weddings, the list goes on.

I finally spent the last couple of days playing catch up, and reminiscing about the the Feather and Stone Field Trip I attended early January. Looking back through the images, in both digital and film format, reminded me of all the love and inspiration that was bouncing about the Deux Belettes, in Byron Bay, and in turn helped the whole experience come flooding back.

As an aspiring Brisbane wedding photographer, who better to learn from than the masters Seth and Tennille ????!!.

Seth and Tennille are 'one'.

One wonderful abundance of nurturing, love, care and education.
I hadn't used a film camera since my youth and then it was automatic. So I was extremely hesitant as we were given an old Olympus and instructed to take a film from our stock (provided) and try it out in our small groups. Laugh ??? I laughed till I cried. Not only at my lack of skills, with this camera, but with the constant strive to produce different concepts which took me back to my (naughty) school days and appealed to my childish sense of humour, Kimmi and colander/toilet roll!!!, spring to mind!!!!. Needless to say out of the first film I must have got 5-10 in focus lol, but hey I didn't know that (no LCD playback) at the time and my confidence grew by my second roll of film.
I must be honest though the Canon 1V seemed SSSOOOOOoooooo much easier with its auto focus and inbuilt light metering. Now I know all you people out there will say thats NOT what films about, you have to do the manual focusing and the light metering to really call yourself a film photographer - but hey guys!! Relax!! there has to be a little leeway for us oldies lol lol.

Deux Belettes is one of the most stunningly beautiful locations I have ever been to, and to be able to spend three full days in such a creative setting couldn't help but send your imagination into overdrive. A great group of field trippers lead by Seth and Tenille, joined by beautiful models, stylists, MUA's and caterers, brought the whole experience together and can be described perfectly with my favourite word:

Glorious ...

All images presented are a mix of digital and film.
